Looks like one more week

Well, no contractions and no dialation. This boy is stubborn! The doctor tried to strip my membranes, but couldn't because he hasn't dropped down far enough. She thinks he is about 8-1/2 pounds or so right now. She says if she were to induce me now, I'd end up with a c-section. So....the plan is for me to go to her next Tuesday morning for an ultrasound and internal check. Then, I will check into the hospital next Tuesday night for cervadil to continue softening my cervix. Then they will start the pitocin to induce labor on Wednesday morning. Hopefully I will be able to have a vaginal delivery and not a c-section. She said I could still go on my own, but I got the impression she thinks it'll go to next week. So....I am so miserable and uncomfortable, but at least we know our boy will arrive next Wednesday at the latest.

On the monitor

Doesn't look like anything is really going on labor wise. Mary's bp was 122/80. Babies heartbeat is holding arounf 140. Bottom number on the monitor shows no sign of contractions.

39 weeks and still waiting

Nothing new to report....was 39 weeks yesterday, and I don't seem to be any closer to delivery. My stomach has grown a good bit this week, so Brady is getting bigger. I haven't had any contractions; just backache, pelvic pressure, insomnia--you know, all the fun stuff. We're hoping something will happen soon. If not, my next doctor's appointment is Wednesday.......

Weight

Our Dr. Thinks Brady is somewhere between 8 and 8.5 lb. She told us not to get discouraged about the dilation. It's normal to go from 0-60 all at once. Could be any day. 2 weeks max. She'll discuss inducing next week at our visit next Wednesday at noon.

BLEAH

Well, nothing yet. I am very uncomfortable and can't sleep. Every time I eat my stomach gets upset. I think I am having some twinges, but nothing to get excited about yet. Let's hope Brady is ready soon!!! Brad and I are ready for him to arrive!

FULL MOON RISING.....

Well, tonight is the full moon, and we have a low pressure system swirling just off the coast. You know what I'm hoping for.....hoping that gravitational pull does something to me and Brady and makes him decide to come out! Everyone keep their fingers crossed!!!

Still Waiting.....

We had our 37 week doctor's appointment this morning (I'm 37 weeks, 3 days). Everything with me and Brady is still good--good blood pressure for me, good heartbeat for him, measuring 38 weeks. Dr. McIntosh has instructed me to go to half days at work next week; she wants me resting more and gearing up for delivery and staying off my feet more. I'm OK with that--just want to get through this week at work and then I'll feel good about stuff. I'm having some different pains, but I don't think they're real contractions yet. I go back to the doctor next Wednesday morning, so hopefully if Brady hasn't arrived by then we'll get some good news about our progress!

BIG BOY!

We had our 36 week ultrasound today, and in the words of our doctor, "he's not small". They estimate his current weight at 7 pounds, 3 ounces. There is a one pound error rate, so he could be a pound lighter or heavier. I got the impression from the ultrasound tech that he's not any smaller! We got some great pictures we'll post later of his toes and profile and spine. I'm doing good; the strep test was negative, blood pressure good, weight good---just playing the waiting game now! My doctor promised she wouldn't make me deliver a 10 pound baby! I'll be full term on Saturday (37 weeks), so everyone keep thinking good July birth thoughts!!!
